Immigration, Family and Criminal Barrister
Helen was called to the bar in 2008 and admitted as Solicitor and a Solicitor with Higher Rights of Audience she has “dual-capacity” having completed the additional training to offer her services as a Public Access Barrister and has completed the Bar Council’s Conduct of Litigation course.
Helen provides specialist advice and representation in immigration, family, and criminal matters;
Qualified as an IAAS Level 2 supervising solicitor and a Solicitor with Higher Rights of Audience in Public Law, which allows me to exercise rights of audience in all civil proceedings in the higher courts, including judicial review proceedings in any court arising from any criminal cause.
Helen can offer a range of support and advice with immigration matters including deportation and human rights law together with a strong working knowledge of ECHR, criminal and family law and its specific interface with immigration and human rights law involving removal and deportation.

Helen regularly attends hearings for residence & contact orders, DV hearings non-molestation and/or residence orders and ancillary relief hearings.
CRIME – EXTRADITION/ CONFISCATION AND ANCILLARY ORDERS (POCA)
Providing advice and representation on a range of criminal matters and with a focus on extradition and or confiscation hearings. Helen has shadowed CPS Crown prosecutors in the extradition team to expand to her previous knowledge of Immigration judicial review (IJR) and appellate work in respect of criminal deportations.
She regularly advises and represents clients at hearing on appeals against extradition and bail and represents clients in matters of confiscation (POCA) hearings in the Magistrates Court.
Helen is a JCWI training facilitator in Immigration and Human Rights Law and as accredited trainer provide compliance and regulation training to Tier 2 sponsors and Level 2 managers in SME’s and Health Authorities
Prior to coming to the Bar Helen was an equity partner in a private medical laser clinic. Travelling widely within Europe and the Middle East, sourcing innovative laser techniques for the UK she was appointed the business-training representative for a multi-national medical laser manufacturer, training private business, medical professionals on laser procedure, litigation and business in the UK
