Ask The Barrister

Welcome to ‘Ask the Barrister’, a new legal subscription channel brought to you by the entrepreneurs behind ShenSmith Barristers.

This channel will host short videos of up to 15 minutes duration all delivered by barristers who are experts within their field. Each video will summarise an area of law, or, particular points within an area of law. Videos will cover a broad and ever growing range of legal topics from what you should do if you find yourself with 12 penalty points on your driving license to how you can access the services of a public access barrister (without engaging the services of a solicitor first). We aim to cover areas of practical everyday use to you, the consumer. Our library of videos will grow month by month ensuring that your monthly subscription always offers incredible value for money.

The content will be driven by YOU. What does this mean? Although we will commission the videos to be shown the main factor in determining the content of future videos will be your wants: as subscribers, you have the option of notifying us of subject areas of particular relevance to you:-  Just had an accident in which you think another party is at fault? You might want a summary of the law of negligence. – Have you just purchased something on the internet? You might want to know about rights of return. – Want to bring an action in the county court? You would surely find a summary of the relevant procedure useful. – And so on. Just let us know the topic area and the points of interest to you and we will do our best to oblige. We will select the subjects which are most sought after and, therefore, likely to be of most use and interest to you, the subscriber.

Of course, we cannot provide advice tailored to, or intended to solve, individual legal problems. This site is intended to be of use to as many subscribers as possible. Therefore, requests of a general nature are more likely to be met. Please note that the content of these videos is not intended as, nor is it to be taken as, legal advice. Responsibility for the opinions in the videos is solely that of the experts in question. The aim is to provide a broad brush outline of any given subject area which you will find interesting and may find useful in general terms. You will be at liberty to contact the individual expert to obtain specific advice if you do require particular and tailored assistance as each specialist will be a public access barrister whose contact details will be available to you. However, as an introduction to a legal area, what could be better than content chosen by you and delivered by expert barristers?

We aim to revolutionise the way legal content is brought to you by providing you with your own affordable, and ever growing, legal library.

Another legal innovation brought to you by the team behind ShenSmith Barristers.
